Oh how I loved getting to know Jess and Chris in the lead up to their special day. Bright and bubbly Jess glowed with excitement as she told me about all the little details and the amazing Brisbane wedding vendors she had chosen to bring her beautiful boho wedding to life.
The couple opted to have their ceremony and reception at Brisbane’s High Church venue in Fortitude Valley. This renovated church has been converted to a chapel style venue and can be booked for non-religious ceremonies and wedding receptions.
As with all ceremonies I really enjoy getting the guests pumped during the pre wedding announcements. As well as this being an opportunity to share valuable information, this also really sets the tone for a really enjoyable ceremony.
These beautiful souls opted for a ceremony that was just the right balance of being deeply heartfelt with some light hearted giggles and a few belly laughs – perfectly reflecting them as a couple.
From the moment beautiful Jess arrived looking absolutely radiant, and began her walk down the aisle with her lovely Mama, Chris could barely hold back the tears. He knew this was going to be emotional for him and he took in the moment and couldn’t take his eyes of his stunning wife to be.
The couple opted for a bohemian style ceremony arbour backdrop and the talented Kate Dawes Flower Design was tasked with recreating an image Jess had stumbled across, resulting in this fresh greenery arbour – another detaisl that felt so fitting for this couple and their love of plants.
The day Jess and Chris first met, Chris was instantly attracted to Jess, however being the social butterfly she is, he couldn’t seem to get her attention, so he came up with a plan to win her attention by showing her his sexiest attribute – a photo of his dog Parker.
Needless to say Parker’s cuteness won her over and the rest is history, so it was only fitting for Parker to make a surprise appearance at their wedding mid ceremony, dressed in his own little tux to deliver their rings!
Sweet little Parker had no qualms with making the most of his moment in the spotlight. To everyone’s amusement, taking his time, he paused to individually sniff each aisle seated guest on every single row as he gradually made his way down the aisle to his doting parents.
After the couple exchanged the thoughtfully written vows they had separately written, I ensured I was well out of shot (as no one needs a photo bombing Celebrant in these pics right?) I introduced them as husband and wife and they shared a kiss to the roaring cheers and applause of their guests.
The happy newlyweds could barely contain their happiness as they signed their marriage certificates and I couldn’t be more excited for them either!
After they made their way down the aisle together as husband and wife this gorgeous couple paused for the traditional High Church shot outside the chapel doors, before making their way to the nearby Brisbane Powerhouse for these beautiful wedding photos, while their guests enjoyed refreshing drinks and nibbles on the terrace.
Just when I thought this day couldn’t get any more stunning, this adorable couple and their wedding party squad returned to High Church, where the room had been reconfigured for their reception, where Jess surprised everyone with this super cute outfit change, debuted for their first dance as husband and wife.
Congratulations to this gorgeous couple and thank you for choosing me to be your Celebrant for your very special day.
A very special mention to the very talented Levi of Beaux Art Co who captured this day so perfectly while instantly fitting in like an old of friend of the couples.
