At Brisbane City Celebrants, we simply LOVE celebrating love. It’s Celebrant Cara reporting on the wedding blog today, sharing with you a stunning Cloudland wedding ceremony for two wonderful grooms.
The Rose Room Terrace at Cloudland in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. The two grooms arrived and entered the room together, walked down the aisle by their Mum’s who they are both extremely close to which was really special.
The colour theming for the day was delicious shades of blue, perfectly reflected in the stunning decor and fresh floral arbour so of course I did my best to blend in (without standing out) also wearing blue. Many of the guests even sported blue attire too, which really added to the atmosphere.
From friendship to forever
This love story began at a Pride community dinner. When Ian, with his quiet demeanor, observed Jamie’s infectious laughter and playful antics. Later that evening during the Pride Walk, they struck up a conversation and both felt an instant familiarity.
But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. The very next day, after they first met Ian found himself in a bit of a predicament, when a scooter accident resulted in a broken arm! Jamie offered his support and quickly became his rock during his recovery.
Life took another turn not long after when Jamie needed a new place to live. The timing was perfect as Ian’s spare room had just become available! And so they became roomies and friends. Living together a deep friendship ensued and endless laughter filled their home.
One weekend, when Ian was away, Jamie felt something was missing and realised the depth of his feelings. Upon Ian’s return, he confessed his feelings, only to find out the feelings were mutual, and they officially became a couple.
When I met them both in person prior to their wedding, we instantly clicked, and I knew this was going to be a really, really great ceremony!
Their vision was for their ceremony to be relaxed, fun, and not too long.
They booked me on the spot during our in-person meeting, which meant I could get straight in to drafting their fun personalised ceremony that perfectly captured the essence of their love story, filled with laughter and heartwarming moments.

We always send our ceremonies to our couples to proof, edit and if they wish to add to, as we find knowing exactly what to expect and not having to worry about any unwanted surprises, allows couples to be a lot more relaxed and at ease on the day.
After I shared their story together, they exchanged some beautiful wedding vows, tears and laughter, before exchanging rings and sealing their marriage with a kiss.
After the ceremony their fabulous Photographers from The Infinity Collective guided them through some awesome photos around the venue, while guests enjoyed celebratory drinks on the rooftop Valley Hops Bar before heading to the “Happily Ever After Party” for a night filled with fun, laughter, and memories to last a lifetime.
