A happiness filled Calile wedding

I absolutely loved being the Celebrant for this happiness filled Calile wedding which was soooo up my street!  It’s such a great feeling sharing couples love stories, seeing them and their guests laughing, crying (happy tears) and witnessing everyone there glowing with love. I really do love being a Celebrant.

Ange and Todd were surrounded by family and friends as they wed, many whom travelled far and wide to be there and celebrate with them and you could really feel just how loved they were by their guests.

Their ceremony was warm, personalised and lots of laughs were had as I shared their serendipitous love story.

Ange and Todd first met after swiping right on Tinder but it wasn’t exactly the smoothest start! After a few days of messaging back and forth, Ange decided to delete Todd and the app completely because “his chat was average”.

She took his slow response as a lack of interest. Thankfully this love story didn’t end right there and then.

For some reason, Ange couldn’t stop thinking about him. At this point they hadn’t exchanged numbers or social media accounts so she redownloaded the app and went on a swiping frenzy to find him again.

Once she did, they “matched” for a second time. This time Todd picked up his game and explained he had been busy renovating, so Ange gave him bonus points for being a homeowner and working on his renovations.

They soon met for an afternoon drink at a local bar and this is where Ange learnt it wasn’t actually Todd’s house being renovated, but his housemate, Luke (who was actually one of the groomsmen). So thanks to Luke for loaning Todd the shirt and the house, and getting this love story started!

Psst, notice how I step off to the side to share the couples love story, giving the Photographer ample opportunity to capture just the 2 of them, being in the moment.

Back to the love story. The afternoon drink turned into hours of endless conversation, a sunset walk on the beach, and what turned out to be the start of the rest of their lives.

Todd’s initial thoughts of Ange were… “She’s late!” But what followed was Ange’s very warm and inviting smile and the time no longer mattered. Todd soon realised Ange had a great sense of humour and their conversation flowed effortlessly.

Meanwhile Ange’s first impression of Todd was how kind and thoughtful he is, and how easy the conversation was. He was confident and not afraid to be himself.

He spoke highly of his friends and family and demonstrated how important his relationships were. She also noticed his heavily tattooed arm and wondered how she would explain that to her Dad later if things went well!

The sweet couple shared beautifully written vows with each other. Ange got emotional sharing her heartfelt vows and everyone began to well up, so Todd gently and reassuringly reached for her arm as she read her last few words. It was such a special moment and it’s wonderful their Photographer Renee captured it all.

After vows and rings were exchanged, we surprised the couples Mum’s by inviting them to be their official witnesses – another gorgeous moment.

Then we all sent the newlyweds back down the aisle together to the passionate cheers and applause of their guests.

Wedding Tip: When you walk down the aisle, look at each other, then look ahead and have a big smooch when you reach the end of the aisle. It always makes for great photos.

Wedding Tip: Let your Celebrant know your wedding colour palette so they can blend it on your photos (without standing out).

After guests finished congratulating the newlyweds, the couple headed to the hotels rooftop for some champagne sprays, before a wonder down nearby James Street for some bio confetti showers.
