What a glamorous day it was for Alex and Wade’s wedding at the Calile Hotel with Celebrant Cara Hodge. Their wedding not only looked amazing, but also included thoughtful touches and some fabulous little surprises so the day ‘felt’ amazing too.
The celebrations were underway the moment guests arrived with drinks being circulated by the venue.
Following some pre-wedding announcements where the guests were warmed up, building the excitement for the ceremony, the beautiful bride arrived with her girls before being walked down the aisle by her twin sister.
Note below how I deliver much of the ceremony stood off to the side, giving the Photographers abundant opportunities to capture the couple and their wedding party without me being in the shot.
The couple opted for a contemporary ceremony, balancing the meaningfulness of the day, with a generous dose of humour and laughter.
As part of our process of personalising the wedding ceremony for our couples, in addition to getting a really good idea of the kind of ceremony our couples would like and will feel most comfortable with, we also ask them some questions about their relationship. Alex and Wade decided to keep this bit a surprise from each other and hear what each other had to say for the first time during the ceremony, along with their guests.
Wade’s initial thoughts when he first met Alex, were that he remembers feeling so glad that his friend convinced him to come out that night and his next thought was how he better not stuff this up!
On the contrary, after first meeting Wade and listening to him talking about clothes and expensive wine, Alex’s initial thoughts were that he was a bit too pretentious!
However, she quickly realised it was all a big act and discovered a truly weird and wonderful person that she quickly fell in love with.
The ceremony was filled with love and laughter and a big surprise….
When it came to the rings, the best man was invited to present the rings, and looked distraught at having forgotten them, the groom shook his head as the Best Man left the room to go and get the rings.
Only to return moments later with their 2 pugs, to the surprise and exclamation of their guests!, who gasped, aww’d and laughed as they realised it had all been a gag.
What a great couple and a happy ceremony it was, leading perfectly in to the rest of the celebrations.
Following the ceremony, the happy newlyweds and their wedding party made their way to the hotel rooftop for these stunning urban location photos.
Alex and Wade’s words of advice: “The most significant piece of advice we would give any couple planning their wedding is to be selective with vendors and not to focus just on price. Vendors will also be likely to recommend other professionals with a similar style to them, which can help produce a really cohesive look. Experienced vendors might seem more expensive, but every single vendor we worked with was an absolute pro and not only fantastic at what they do but also made the lead-up and the wedding day go so smoothly.
