Real Wedding Inspiration: Factory51
Kellie and Mitch’s wedding at Factory51 was a huge success thanks to thoughtful planning, meaningful moments, and prioritising celebrating with loved ones – all in timeless style.
For couples seeking inspiration for their own Brisbane or Factory51 wedding, this special day is filled with helpful ideas, inspiration and personality.
First Look and Pre-Ceremony Photos
A top priority for Kellie and Mitch when planning their wedding was maximising time to celebrate with family and friends. To achieve this, they opted for a private ‘first look’ photoshoot before the ceremony – a beautiful moment shared between them.
By having their photos taken beforehand, the couple enjoyed every moment after the ceremony mingling and celebrating, instead of being whisked away for photos.
With rain on the forecast, working with their Photographer, they made a little pivot to their plans, moving their location photos indoors to Brisbane City Hall. Did you know City Hall offers complimentary bookings for small photoshoots? A brilliant backup plan for photos on a rainy day in Brisbane!
Personalised Wedding Party Choices
Kellie and Mitch kept their ceremony authentic and true to themselves, each choosing just one wedding party member. Instead of following the traditional gender roles, Mitch invited his sister to be his ‘Best Woman’ which was a lovely reflection of their close bond, making the day all the more personal and memorable.
A Ceremony Filled with Heart and Humour
Their ceremony was warm, meaningful, and full of light-hearted moments. Guests loved hearing the story of their first planned date, which was cancelled when Mitch advised he had ‘cut his finger’. Kellie initially thought she had been brushed off but later found out that his injury had resulted in a visit to hospital!
Thankfully that first date was replanned and when it finally took place, they soon discovered their shared values, ambition and sense of adventure. Their ceremony set the tone for a celebration that felt genuinely “them”, with laughter, happy tears, and heartfelt vows.
Timeless, Monochrome Style
Kellie and Mitch embraced a striking monochrome black and white colour palette for their day. Kellie’s bold choice of black shoes looked both stylish and modern.
When it came time for their arrival at their reception, she surprised guests having swapped into a chic short party dress, perfect for celebrating the night away.
Why Factory51 Was the Perfect Match
