When practical jokers Lauren and Luke decided to get married, they knew from the get-go their wedding was going to be fun and different.
When it came to planning their wedding, these 2 pranksters decided on pulling the ultimate April fools day prank on their guests, inviting them to their engagement party which quickly turned in to the most epic surprise wedding!
The evening began with an open bar and the couple there to greet guests as they arrived. Squeezing in a few photos together before the surprise was revealed.
Having worked with a number of couples planning surprise weddings over the years, we’ve got some great ideas up our sleeve of how to reveal the surprise.
To announce their surprise, Lauren and Luke decided on having me share some announcements under the pretense that I was their MC. After some basic ‘housekeeping’ and warming up the crowd, I gathered the guests for a group ‘engagement party’ photo, before announcing, that everyone here is invited to their wedding, which is taking place… NOW!
The room erupted with gasps, squeals and cheering as guests realised they were about to witness Lauren and Luke get married.
With 2 function rooms, the venue worked well for the surprise as guests then moved into the adjoining room which was set up, ready for the ceremony to take place.
In keeping with the fun vibe of the evening, the couple enjoyed a happy and laughter filled ceremony. Looking at the grins on their faces, it’s safe to say the guests seriously enjoyed the ceremony too!
The couple shared vows that were authentic, funny and meaningful.
For the second time that evening, the guests cheered passionately as the couple were introduced as husband and wife.
Having already had their portrait photos taken, there was no need for them to head off somewhere for photos, which meant the couple could immediately begin celebrating with their guests which was absolutely perfect.
What a great way for Lauren and Luke to wed at their engagement party turned surprise wedding. If you enjoyed hearing about this surprise wedding and we sound like the kind of Celebrants that would be a good fit for your special day, we would love to hear from you.
