We love being Celebrants for elopements at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, with a fantastic variety of lush greenery and a lake backdrop, there are some very beautiful spots to choose from.
While the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens have official ceremony lawns that can be booked for standard weddings to accommodate more guests, with an elopement you have the freedom and flexibility to pick a spot you like and if it’s available on the day, we can simply set up and get you married!
Here are some of our favourite spots for Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens elopements.
THE TREE Over THE LAKE
The picture-perfect tree amid the lagoon makes a great ceremony backdrop. Pictured here with our elopement ceremony decor package.
Lake Backdrop (by the bamboo)
We are particularly fond of this beautiful lake backdrop area, which offers a stunning backdrop of the lake off a quieter pathway, offering more privacy than other areas.
The lake backdrop offers ample photo opportunities and is relatively close to the entrance of the gardens, making it easy for witnesses and guests to locate.
As part of our professional service, we make sure your Photographer gets shots with just the two of you during the ceremony, so we deliver our elopement weddings stood off to the side, assisting them in capturing great images like this.
Lovers Jetty
For small intimate elopements at the gorgeous Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens, Lovers Jetty is a picturesque location over the lake. Perfect for intimate elopements like those with just 2 witnesses present.
This couple enjoyed a relaxed, stress-free intimate elopement.
To keep their ceremony as small, intimate and private as possible some couples opt to have a Photographer as one of their witnesses, and sometimes one of us Celebrants can be the second witness, while the other delivers the ceremony.
Bush Chapel
Mt Coot-tha is also home to this very private and somewhat secret designated site that can be booked through the council, including the Bush Chapel.
Accessible via a short uphill walk, the little known about Mt Coot-tha Bush Chapel is surrounded by tall trees providing shade and privacy. The area has built in log seating and is perfect for weddings and elopements with a small number of guests.
