I feel so lucky every time a couple invites me to be their Celebrant for their Gabbinbar Homestead wedding.
Located 90 minutes west of Brisbane in Toowoomba you will find this heritage listed villa style homestead on a private property surrounded by picturesque gardens.
As a Celebrant I love performing weddings at Gabbinbar Homestead, not only as it’s such a beautiful wedding venue, but because I always find the staff so thoughtful and accommodating.
Every detail is carefully thought through and any opportunity to go above and beyond to make couples weddings even more special is taken, which is very in sync with the principles behind Brisbane City Celebrants service and client experience.
I am so excited to share this very special couples wedding day which incorporated an incredible team of premium wedding vendors, all captured to perfection by the lovely Photographers at Bulb Creative.
One of the many unique features of this venue is the bridal suite, where the day begins, usually with the bride and her wedding party, enjoying a relaxed morning getting ready in this lovely on site sanctuary.
The couples ceremony commenced with two of the brides family making their own entrance down the aisle, which was a really sweet inclusion.
I always like to ensure the groom and groomsmen are comfortable with where to stand before and during the ceremony, and I always like to ensure the couple are perfectly centred with their backdrop or in this case their wedding arbour which really enhances the photos.
The wonderful Gabbinbar staff cue the wedding party when to commence their walk down the aisle. They often even conduct a walk through with them the day before which is a great example of how they strive to go above and beyond.
Walked down the aisle by her father, Laura’s father hugged her and shook the groom Shane’s hand, which is a great modern version of the traditional wedding ceremony ‘giving away’.
As explained in our wedding ceremony rehearsal video, (one of the many ways that we strive to go above and beyond!) the bridesmaids dutifully ensured Laura’s dress was perfectly in place out as she held Shane’s hands and they locked eyes with each other.
Together we designed a simple and meaningful ceremony which was enjoyable and engaging, before they shared the surprise vows they had written to each other for the very first time.
The couple did an amazing job with their wedding vows. They each sent their surprise vows through to me before their wedding, so I was able to print these on to quality vow paper and present them on bespoke vow cards on the day, which means they can focus on reading their vows without them catching the wind.
After exchanging surprise vows with each other the happy couple exchanged rings, before sealing the deal with a kiss, and signing their marriage certificates.
The marriage certificates were presented in our white certificate holders and Mont Blanc signing pens were provided which really added to the luxurious feel of this stunning wedding.
Guests couldn’t have been more excited to celebrate the newlyweds as they made their way back down the aisle.
Congratulations to the happy newlyweds, it was an absolute honour to be chosen as your Celebrant for your special day.
I know I’ve raved about them a lot already, but kudos once again to the amazing Gabbinbar Homestead team, as soon as the ceremony concludes, guests are immediately greeted with a variety of chilled drinks.
Bulb Creative did such a wonderful job capturing this wedding, that I can’t resist sharing a few more from the couples location photo shoot around the grounds of this historic homestead.
Congratulations once again to this very special couple. Thank you so much to the legends at Bulb Creative for capturing this day to perfection.
If you enjoyed hearing about this wedding, and are looking for a Celebrant for your special day, I would love to hear from you.
